A growing precision engineering company is seeking a skilled CNC Turner to join their night shift team. This permanent role involves operating and programming 2-axis CNC lathes to produce high-quality components across low to medium batch runs.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for full machine setup, programming, and operation of CNC turning machines, producing components to tight tolerances and high-quality standards. The ideal candidate is confident working independently, has experience with G-code programming, and can adapt to both one-off and batch production.
Key Responsibilities
Program, set, and operate 2-axis CNC lathes
Write new CNC programs manually at the machine
Edit and optimise pre-existing programs, including tooling, speeds, and feeds
Use in-process measuring tools to ensure quality compliance
Manufacture components in a variety of hard and soft metals
Work from engineering drawings and adhere to strict tolerances and surface finish standards
Handle larger components (up to 300mm diameter × 3m length) with lifting equipment (training provided)
Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient workspaceSkills & Experience Required
Proven experience programming, setting, and operating 2-axis CNC machines
Strong knowledge of **G-code and Manual Guide i software**
Experienced in producing both one-off and small-to-medium batch precision components
Confident interpreting engineering drawings and geometric tolerances
Hands-on, proactive, and quality-driven work ethic
Previous experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment
