Summary of Job Duties: The Director of Community Education and Engagement serves as the educational leader and chief administrator of all community education and engagement operations. Responsibilities include planning and directing instructional, enrichment, and engagement programs, ensuring curriculum coherence, administering school facilities, participating in staff, student, and community activities, and supervising staff.

Essential Functions:
* Serve on the district Cabinet Team, exploring innovative and collaborative opportunities, identifying potential barriers, facilitating problem-solving, and recommending systematic changes to support district goals.
* Lead the development of community education and engagement programs, ensuring they meet the needs of students, families, and the community.
* Develop organizational structures, curricula, and support systems within community education programs.
* Maintain the health, safety, and welfare of students, staff, and families, providing equitable opportunities aligned with the district's mission.
* Act as a liaison between the district and the community to build strategic partnerships.
* Manage grant opportunities and funding partnerships to support programs and services.
* Supervise staff, conduct evaluations, and provide mentorship and coaching.
* Participate in district administration and serve as a communication link for community programs.
* Oversee the business operations and budget of approximately $3 million, including grant management and reporting.
* Stay current with best practices to ensure successful student and family opportunities.
* Facilitate stakeholder groups such as the Community Education Advisory Council.
* Promote communication between school and home to encourage parent involvement.
* Attend board meetings to represent community education initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strategic operational skills, thorough knowledge of program administration, grant writing, and evaluation, strong communication skills, staff supervision abilities, financial monitoring expertise, and the ability to motivate and establish effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Current programs include Community Schools, Adult Education, School Aged Childcare, Early Learning, Family Education, Youth Programs, Adults with Disabilities, Community Enrichment, Facilities Management, Summer STEAM, Strategic Partnerships, and Targeted Services. The new director will bring innovative ideas to expand and enhance these offerings.
Compensation & Benefits: Salary is $172,260 for a 260-day contract.
