Communicate is a fast-growing managed technology provider, delivering advanced connectivity, cybersecurity, and cloud solutions to thousands of businesses across the UK. Following our acquisition of Blaze Networks, we’re expanding our Networks division — and we’re looking for an inspiring Head of Network Sales to drive our growth in SD-WAN, SASE, and managed network services.
Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), you’ll lead a high-performing sales organization, drive significant revenue growth, and position Communicate as the trusted connectivity and network partner for mid-market and enterprise customers.
About the Role
As Head of Network Sales, you’ll own the commercial strategy and performance of our Networks division spanning SD-WAN, SASE, and enterprise connectivity. You’ll build and optimise scalable sales processes, drive new business, and expand existing relationships across mid-market and enterprise clients.
Working closely with Marketing, Product, and Service Delivery, you’ll ensure Communicate’s network propositions from SD-WAN to full-fibre connectivity deliver tangible outcomes for our customers. This role combines strategic influence with hands‑on leadership in a PE‑backed environment built for growth.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Owning growth: Take full ownership of network sales performance, delivering sustainable revenue across SD-WAN, SASE, and connectivity services.
* Scaling new business: Build, manage, and optimise a structured outbound and inbound sales process to generate high‑value new client wins.
* Maximising existing accounts: Partner with Account Management and Customer Success to drive upsell, cross‑sell, and retention opportunities.
* Leading from the front: Recruit, coach, and inspire a high‑performing team to exceed ambitious targets.
* Building relationships: Strengthen strategic partnerships with Fortinet, Cisco, and connectivity providers such as Openreach, Virgin, and other wholesale partners.
* Driving innovation: Stay ahead of the curve on SD‑WAN, SASE, ZTNA, and the evolution of secure, intelligent connectivity.
* Optimising performance: Use Salesforce, ZohoCRM, Apollo.io, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator to track performance, improve pipeline velocity, and drive data‑led decision‑making.
Technical Scope (what you know and sell)
* SD‑WAN & SASE (core):
o Fortinet: Fortinet Secure SD‑WAN, FortiGate NGFW, FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer, FortiSASE, and ZTNA.
o Cisco: Cisco SD‑WAN (Viptela/Catalyst), Cisco+ Secure Connect / Meraki SD‑WAN, ASA/Firepower, and Zero Trust alignment.
o Experience across FTTP, FTTC, leased lines, on‑net fibre, and multi‑carrier design.
o Partnerships with UK carriers including Openreach, Virgin Media Business, and other network operators.
o Strong grasp of WAN resilience, 4G/5G failover, and connectivity aggregation models.
* Microsoft Cloud (focus area):
o Azure networking (vWAN, VPN, and ExpressRoute integration), Microsoft 365, and Intune/Entra ID alignment within SD‑WAN/SASE solutions.
* Network Monitoring & Management:
o Familiar with tools such as ThousandEyes, SolarWinds, PRTG, and Auvik to deliver SLA‑backed managed services.
* SOC/NOC Integration & ITSM:
o Experience in SOC/NOC‑integrated service delivery, using platforms like ServiceNow or Jira Service Management for incident and change processes.
* Backup & Resilience:
o Exposure to Veeam, Datto, Acronis, Azure Backup, and business continuity solutions complementing network resilience.
Who We’re Looking For
* Minimum 10 years’ experience in senior sales leadership within enterprise networking, managed services, or IT infrastructure.
* Deep technical and commercial understanding of SD‑WAN, SASE, and Zero Trust (ZTNA) frameworks.
* Strong background in Fortinet and Cisco ecosystems.
* Experience across connectivity solutions (FTTP, leased lines, carrier relationships, and on‑net designs).
* Knowledge of Microsoft Cloud Services, network monitoring, SOC/NOC, and ITSM‑aligned managed services.
* Proven success leading high‑performing B2B sales teams and delivering multi‑million‑pound growth.
* Strategic thinker with hands‑on drive, commercial acumen, and executive presence.
