Role Overview
This role involves delivering care across adult and paediatric acute presentations, managing trauma cases, and working across adult majors/minors, Children’s ED, and resus. As a Trust Grade doctor you will perform initial assessment of patients, provide immediate care, and formulate and enact an initial management plan in partnership with senior clinicians.
Responsibilities
* Deliver care for adult and paediatric acute presentations and trauma cases, including initial assessment and immediate treatment.
* Work across adult majors/minors, Children’s ED and resus, collaborating closely with Same Day Emergency Care and Intensive Care teams.
* Participate in professional development: attend teaching sessions, maintain and develop emergency care skills, reflect on care to identify improvement and excellence.
* Engage in quality improvement, audit, and research projects within the department.
* Maintain good working relationships with a large multidisciplinary team, demonstrating excellent communication with patients and colleagues.
* Operate within the Tier 2/SHO rota, including night shifts, with flexibility for academic or clinical commitments.
Qualifications
* At least two years of postgraduate experience across medical and surgical specialties (e.g., UK Foundation programme).
* Previous NHS experience and management of acute adult and some paediatric presentations.
* Ability to work autonomously and manage critical cases with confidence.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate within a large, multidisciplinary team.
