About the Role:
A leading UK commercial insurer is seeking a Fleet Underwriter to join their Birmingham team. The successful candidate will underwrite and manage a portfolio of fleet insurance business, support broker trading activity, and contribute to sustainable, profitable growth. This hybrid position offers the flexibility to work remotely for part of the week.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Underwrite fleet accounts accurately, efficiently, and profitably.
2. Build and maintain strong trading relationships with regional brokers.
3. Support new business growth across the Birmingham and wider Midlands market.
4. Monitor account performance and provide insights based on data and market trends.
5. Collaborate with internal underwriting and operational teams to ensure consistent decision-making and adherence to underwriting strategy.
Requirements:
6. Demonstrable experience in commercial motor or fleet underwriting.
7. Strong analytical, risk assessment, and decision-making skills.
8. Proven ability to build and maintain productive broker relationships.
9. Solid understanding of insurance regulations and compliance standards.
10. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
