Senior Data & AI Scientist
Location & Hours
Leeds, Full‑time, Hybrid (at least 2 days per week at office)
Salary Range
£72,702 - £80,780
Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver solutions.
Collect, process and analyse data from various sources, ensuring ethical use of data in all projects.
Perform statistical analysis to identify trends and patterns.
Develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms.
Continuously improve models and processes for better performance.
Qualifications
Hands‑on development experience in.>
Advanced proficiency in Python (NumPy, Pandas, scikit‑learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow).
Strong understanding of feature engineering, model selection, evaluation metrics, optimisation techniques and Gen AI.
Ability to apply complex statistical methods and design experiments.
Familiarity with GCP cloud environment for deploying ML solutions.
Ability to understand complex business requirements and create business‑ready solutions.
Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, particularly the ability to convey business information arising from technical subject matter to non‑technical people.
Preferred Experience
Exposure to Generative AI and emerging AI technologies.
Experience with MLOps tools (MLflow, Docker, CI/CD pipelines).
Insights into industry solutions for data management, storage and analytics.
Experience of working within regulatory change would be advantageous, including Credit Risk, capital and impairment processes.
Experience of line management.
