We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Acoustics Engineer with experience in modelling, instrumentation and setting to work on a project delivered by Expleo on behalf of our client.
Responsibilities
 * Provide specialist advice and direction on submarine signatures performance, noise and vibration analysis, and design of equipment.
 * Perform calculations and modelling ranging from analytical to numerical techniques.
 * Collect, analyse and report noise and vibration data, including trials at ASC, equipment supplier premises and on‑board submarines at sea.
 * Develop or assist in the development of documentation such as drawings, specifications, test and trial procedures (including safety assessments), concessions, engineering reports and work instructions.
 * Investigate signature defects and problems reported from submarines in service; develop remedial and corrective designs and actions to prevent recurrence.
 * Review or approve engineering solutions within your delegated Engineering Authority.
 * Contribute to the CCSM life of type extension, update and upgrade of systems, and in‑service support of the fleet.
 * Provide signatures engineering advice to management and other ASC departments as required.
Qualifications
 * Degree or HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
 * Applications are also welcomed from individuals with significant demonstrable experience who do not hold formal qualifications.
Essential Skills
 * Matlab / Simulink modelling experience.
 * Instrumentation specification and set‑up.
 * Development testing in an underwater environment.

 * Teamwork – effective team member.
 * Technical documentation creation / proofreading experience.
 * Familiarity with standard office software packages.

 * Experience in acoustic and/or sonar applications.
