Power Systems Commissioning Engineer
We’re on the lookout for a Power Systems Commissioning Engineer who’s passionate about bringing complex electrical systems to life. This is your chance to play a hands‑on role in cutting‑edge marine power projects, working with some of the most advanced testing and commissioning technology in the industry.
Base pay range
$55,000.00/yr - $65,000.00/yr
What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead switching operations and manage permit-to-work and sanction-to-test systems on major projects.
* Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, including switchboards, transformers, UPS units, circuit breakers, motors, generators, and drives.
* Work on power protection and control systems, integrating digital relays, AVRs, and PLC‑based power management setups.
* Tackle fault‑finding and troubleshooting on both modern and legacy equipment.
* Create and maintain commissioning documentation to industry standards (BS EN 18001, Lloyd’s Register, DNV).
* Support ongoing maintenance of our power infrastructure to keep test operations running without a hitch.
* Keep your skills sharp through ongoing training and development.
What You’ll Bring
* A qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or solid experience in a similar field.
* Strong knowledge of HV/LV power systems, including rotating machines, converters, and switchboards.
* Proven experience in on‑site commissioning and testing of complex electrical systems.
* Familiarity with IEC standards or marine classification rules is a plus.
* You’ll need to hold sole British citizenship (UK Eyes Only) and be able to obtain SC security clearance.
