MSK Clerical Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic and supportive Rheumatology Team based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. The team will provide reception and administrative service to the MSK Outpatients Department. Providing a high-quality service to patients and working as a part of a multi-disciplinary team. This post would be based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that designated clinical services are supported by a well-organised and efficient administrative system, including both reception and clerical functions.
In addition, the individual will be required to provide exemplary reception and clerical assistance to the MSK Administration Team, thereby contributing to the delivery of a comprehensive, high-quality, and responsive service within the department.
Main duties of the job
To provide a professional front of house service as the first point of contact for all patients and visitors to the MSK Outpatient department; always maintaining confidentiality and ensuring a high level of customer service is experienced by all personnel in line with the organisation's PROUD values.
Provide a comprehensive clerical service to the department, undertaking all relevant work-related tasks including retrieval, preparation of notes for clinics and filing of patient information/data, arranging interpreters, booking/cancelling/rescheduling appointments, ensuring utilisation of all clinics, correspondence, photocopying, emailing and answering telephone calls efficiently and professionally in line with the organisation's PROUD values.
Maintain systems and processes to ensure that patient information/data is available at the right time, that they are in the right place, and that they are complete and accurate according to the agreed quality standard.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE at Grade C/4 in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications) or equivalent work experience
* NVQ Level II in Business Administration / Customer Service / IT
Experience
* Experience of working within an office environment
* Experience of working in a public facing role.
* Relevant experience within the NHS
Further Training
* Knowledge of / experience of using information and/or customer service systems.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Excel and Word.
* Previous experience Infoflex / 59R Software
* Previous experience of PAS / Infoflex / SystmOne (area specific software)
* Understanding of data protection issues and the ability to maintain confidentiality
* Excellent communication skills, with ability to deal with staff at all levels.
* Displays use of initiative with effective organisational skill
* Ability to prioritise and work to strict/conflicting deadlines
* On-going commitment to personal development
