Role Title: Lecturer in Sport
Location: Deeside
Contract Type: Part Time, 11.1 hours a week (0.3 FTE), Permanent
Pro Rata Salary: M1 £9691.20 - UP3 £14,980.20 (Upper pay range points UP2 and UP3 are subject to evidence of previous progression to Upper Pay Spine)
Coleg Cambria is searching for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a part-time Lecturer in Sport. We are seeking an enthusiastic professional who is committed to inspiring the next generation of athletes and sports professionals. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to have a significant impact on the development and success of our students.
As a Lecturer in Sport, your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our level 2, level 3, and school links learners enrolled in sport-related courses. You will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging lessons, lectures, and practical sessions that align with the curriculum and cater to the diverse needs of our learners.
In this role, you will provide guidance, support, and constructive feedback to students, nurturing their growth and progress in their sports studies. Assessing and evaluating student performance through assignments, projects, and examinations will be crucial in helping them achieve their goals. Your ability to provide timely and accurate feedback will be instrumental in their development.
Furthermore, you will contribute to the design and development of curriculum materials and resources. It will be essential to ensure that these materials are up-to-date and relevant to industry standards. Staying updated with industry trends and advancements will allow you to incorporate the latest knowledge and skills into your teaching practice, enriching the learning experience for our students.
A Football Coaching Qualification would be advantageous but it is not essential.
Essential Requirements
1. Qualified to a minimum of Level 4 or equivalent in a professionally relevant subject matter
2. You must be a qualified teacher and hold either a PGCE, Cert Ed or C&G 7407
3. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
4. Self motivated, well organised and able to work independently using own initiative
Welsh Language skills are an essential requirement for this role, however Welsh learners with the ability to reach a level 3/4 within a 18 months to 2 year period are also encouraged to apply. Welsh learners will need to be at Level 2 and demonstrate a commitment to achieving fluency. A Welsh Language skills assessment will form part of the selection process to identify competence, confidence and suitability for a development plan.
