Children’s Support Worker
Location: Longridge, Lancashire
Hours: Full time, 40 hrs/week (including late shifts & sleep‑ins)
Rate: Starting at £13.75 per hour
About the Role
Are you looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with special educational needs and complex profiles? We’re seeking enthusiastic, compassionate individuals to join our dedicated residential and educational team in Longridge. You’ll be part of a supportive environment – a safe, structured home-from-home base – for children aged 8–18 with a range of needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality residential support during late evenings, wake/sleep‑in shifts, and occasional weekends on a rotational basis.
* Build warm, nurturing relationships, fostering trust and understanding.
* Assist with personal care, daily routines, mobility, behaviour support, and emotional wellbeing.
* Support a variety of therapeutic, educational, and leisure activities tailored to each young person.
* Maintain accurate records, collaborate in multi‑disciplinary meetings, and contribute to individual care and behaviour plans.
* Ensure a safe, homely environment—promoting well‑being, inclusion, and independence.
Training & Development
* Mentoring and support from experienced residential and SEN professionals.
* Clearly defined career progression pathway within care and education.
What We’re Looking For
* A caring, resilient, and flexible individual with a genuine passion for child‑centred practice.
* Experience in residential care, education, SEN support, or similar roles is desirable.
* Full, clean UK driving licence required.
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain), with strong safeguarding awareness and excellent communication skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
