The CNC Turning department runs Doosan and Goodway machines on Fanuc controls, and the team takes quality seriously at every stage.The RoleThis is a CNC Turner position within the Turning department, reporting to Adam Hearn. The role exists to free up a senior team member to step into a broader position, so you will be the person who keeps output moving.
Success in this role means hitting first-off approval consistently, maintaining quality through in-process inspection, and running your machine with minimal supervision.You'll:Set and operate CNC fixed-head turning machines (Doosan and Goodway, Fanuc controls)Load and prove out programmes from the existing catalogue according to tools lists and works instructionsProduce valid first-off components in line with drawing and quality requirementsConduct in-process inspection and check against drawings and specifications throughout productionComplete all QA records accurately and on timeSelect tooling and make adjustments to maintain component qualityFollow all site health and safety proceduresWhat You'll BringEssential:Proven background in CNC turning, setting, and operatingAbility to read and interpret detailed engineering drawingsHands-on experience with Fanuc CNC controlsSelf-sufficient in first-off approval and in-process quality checksUseful, not essential:Familiarity with Siemens CNC controlsExperience in a catalogue or repeat-production environmentBackground in CNC milling or grinding (skills transfer considered)Apprenticeship or time-served background in machining or engineeringBenefitsCompetitive hourly rate up to £20 per hour DOE25 days holiday per annum, plus bank holidaysCompany contribution pensionHealthcare cashback schemeFree on-site parkingCareer progression opportunitiesWorking ArrangementsLocation : Braintree, Essex | On-siteContract: Permanent | Full-timeHours : Monday to Friday – 39 hours per weekHow to ApplyIf CNC turning is what you do and you want a stable role where your experience is valued, apply now with your CV.
