Position Overview
Applications are invited for a Research Fellow/Research Assistant to join the Heat Pipe Research Group at Brunel University London. The role supports advanced modelling and simulation activities for the Enhancement Project, aiding development and deployment of industrial thermal-management solutions in real-world systems. The position is part-time (17.5 hours per week) on a fixed‑term contract of 24 months.
Location: Brunel University London, Uxbridge Campus. Department: Heat Pipe and Thermal Management Research Group, College of Engineering, Design & Physical Sciences. Contract: Fixed‑term, 24 months. Hours: 17.5 per week. Salary ranges: Research Assistant – £36,640 to £38,638 per annum (pro‑rated for part‑time); Research Fellow – £40,757 to £44,179 per annum (pro‑rated for part‑time).
Responsibilities
* Advance modelling and simulation components of the Enhancement Project under academic guidance.
* Support development and deployment of industrial thermal‑management solutions.
* Conduct practical investigations and performance assessments of models.
* Interpret and analyse simulation results to inform industrial implementation and decision‑making.
* Prepare technical deliverables, research reports, and milestone documentation required by the European Commission.
* Collaborate closely with internal academic teams and European partners to ensure high‑standard simulation work packages.
* Integrate modelling outputs into reporting and dissemination activities.
Qualifications
* Experience in simulation‑based research, particularly in Multiphysics modelling.
* Strong interest in applied engineering and computational science.
* Detail‑oriented researcher with ability to contribute to methodological development and project objectives.
