An exciting opportunity to develop mission in the city of Chester
We are seeking an incumbent for this thriving parish of modern catholic tradition, in Chester. It is a largely residential area, but includes part of Chester University and several schools, including a church school with which there are excellent relationships. There is a new parish centre next to the church, which acts as a busy community hub. There is a strong choral tradition with an excellent choir. A well-appointed rectory is provided. The living is under the patronage of the Duke of Westminster.
The parish is seeking an incumbent who will:
* be joyful and prayerful, and creative in leading worship, working with the congregation to be fully inclusive, including developing the use of Prayers of Love and Faith.
* guide us, direct and stir up our vision for the future of St Mary’s, reaching out beyond our walls, into the diversity of this parish.
* lead us and help us to increase our own ability to witness to and speak about our faith.
* work collaboratively to encourage everyone to play an active part in all aspects of church life.
* develop our work with families, children and young adults, working alongside our new salaried Children and Families Lead, when appointed.
* foster a good safeguarding culture in the parish.
