We have the fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to join a team based in Birmingham, as a Service Charge Team Leader. This is a full time, permanent position. This position offers a hybrid working approach. The Service Charge Team Leader will manage a team of 2 officers and 1 assistant, and ensure continuous development of the service.
Requirements
1. Extensive experience in a Service Charge role
2. Team management experience
3. Knowledge of Housing Associations - experience desirable
4. Previous experience of a computerised accounting system
5. Previous experience of working with complex control accounts
6. Previous experience within a Housing Association is desirable
7. Able to plan and prioritise high volume workloads
8. Excellent IT skills, including using Excel, Access, Powerpoint, and Word
9. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Role Expectations
10. Lead the management of the Electronic Service Charge System (ESCS)
11. Work with budget holders to calculate variable service charges across the organisation
12. Identify improvement required and implement solutions
13. Manage and coordinate the team, allocating responsibilities and reporting on KPIs
14. Processing invoices and managing financial documentation
15. Creating year-end forecasted expenditure reports, estimated Service Charge budgets, and summary letters for approval
16. Managing accruals and prepayments as needed throughout the year
17. Regularly reviewing income, expenditure, and cash flow of blocks
18. Preparing periodic income and expenditure reports
19. Serving as the primary point of contact for contractor payment inquiries
20. Facilitating invoice payments
21. Calculate and produce accurate actual and estimated service charges statements
22. Liaise with key internal and external partners
23. Respond to customer enquiries using case management techniques, investigating and escalating issues as necessary
