Overview Of The Role
The Asset Management and Infrastructure Planning team within the Water Utilities Division seeks a Senior Consultant Assurance to lead technical assurance across statutory regulatory submissions and investment planning for water and wastewater projects. The role reports to the Workstream Lead and works closely with the wider assurance and asset management communities.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical assurance for statutory regulatory submissions, including annual performance reporting, business cases, long‑term plans and operational performance deliverables.
* Lead water resource and wastewater investment planning, strategic asset management, and carbon and net‑zero appraisal.
* Develop and maintain integrated systems, data analytics and decision support tools.
* Appraise contract requirements for NEC and PPP contracts.
* Deliver assurance findings through presentations, reports and formal briefings.
* Adapt to changing regulatory environments and respond proactively to emerging risks and opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience
* Regulatory technical assurance experience within the water industry’s AMP cycles.
* Academic and professional qualifications in engineering, accounting/economics, asset management, or auditing.
* Experience in statutory regulatory submissions, ISO standards, technical audits and service metrics.
* Proven track record delivering assurance work on tight regulatory timescales.
* Membership of a professional body and/or water regulatory network.
* Strong presentation and written communication skills.
* Willingness to undertake assignments throughout the UK and occasional short international visits.
