Job Details We are looking for afriendly, proactive, and organised Library Resource Centre Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is a varied role where you'll be the welcoming face of the LRC, helping students and staff get the most out of our library services, resources, and study spaces. You'll support day-to-day operations, maintain high service standards, and ensure our library environment is a safe, inclusive, and engaging place to learn. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people, has excellent communication skills, and is confident using digital tools. Duties & Responsibilities Act as the first point of contact for LRC users, answering queries in person, by phone, email, and MS Teams. Provide friendly, student-focused support, including basic IT help, printing, and photocopying. Manage the issue and return of resources (books, laptops, mobile phones, games, etc. ) using the Library Management System (LMS). Promote and uphold LRC behaviour expectations and maintain a positive, focused study atmosphere. Support events and enrichment activities, including displays, workshops, and awareness campaigns. Create engaging posters, digital content, and social media updates to promote library services. Maintain and update the LRC SharePoint and laptop booking systems. Handle administration tasks, such as processing new stock, chasing overdue items, raising purchase orders, and tracking supplies. Work collaboratively to supervise the LRC space, manage student behaviour, and ensure safeguarding responsibilities are met. Support college-wide events such as open evenings, inductions, and CPD days. The right candidate will have:Essential: Good general education, particularly in English and communications. Strong organisational and administrative skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Confident with Microsoft Office applications. Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive situations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A positive, motivating, and innovative approach Desirable: Recognised Administration qualification. Experience in the Further Education or education sector. Experience working with AI or automation tools in administration.
