Overview
The Integrated Psychological Therapies Service (IPTS) provides intensive support for people experiencing mental health related conditions and require psychological therapeutic intervention. We work collaboratively with other mental health service providers and are committed to providing care for service users and their families/carers within the least restrictive environment.
Interested individuals will be expected to be enthusiastic, flexible to the needs of the service and committed to the working ethos of the IPTS model. The ability to travel between sites in a timely manner is essential as travel across the three Counties will be required.
It is essential that you have a recognised professional qualification such as nurse registration/social work/occupational therapy. Applicants will require a sound knowledge of current issues pertaining to mental health and psychological well-being.
Main duties
* Accept and screen referrals via agreed protocols within the IPTS, and make decisions on the suitability of new referrals, and liaise with the referrer if necessary.
* Assess service users who may be experiencing difficulties with their mental health and may be in need of psychological interventions.
* Work autonomously to undertake person-centred assessments which identify areas where the person wishes to see change and/or recovery and make an accurate assessment of risk to self and others.
* Formulate a plan and implement tailored packages of care using evidence-based psychological therapies. Develop programmes of care for service users with complex needs.
* Undertake ongoing and continuous assessments in terms of the effectiveness of the interventions being delivered as adjustments to plans may be required.
* Provide advice to service users and carers, recognising the involvement of carers and provide support for them, and with the client’s consent involve carers in the care planning process where appropriate.
* Be responsible for a delegated clinical caseload within their identified areas of responsibility.
* Access clinical supervision for work/caseload review and further ad hoc supervision relevant to their practice modality.
* Work collaboratively and liaise/work with other members of their team, appropriate in-patient units, CMHTs and other identified teams and agencies/professionals.
