Our client, a social housing contractor based in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire is recruiting for a Roofing Contracts Manager to oversee predominately day-to-day roofing repairs across social housing stock.
As our Roofing Contracts Manager, you’ll take the lead on coordinating repair works, supporting on-site teams, and working closely with subcontractors to make sure every job is completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality. From monitoring costs and performance to ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
We’re looking for someone who has proven management experience in social housing roofing, particularly in repair and maintenance and who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. Strong leadership, organisational skills, and excellent communication are key, as is a genuine commitment to providing a high standard of service for residents.
The Role
You will manage multiple repair contracts, coordinate on-site teams, and liaise with tenants and housing associations to deliver fast, high-quality repairs.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee day-to-day roofing repairs across social housing properties
* Manage and support site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
* Manage scheduling and planning teams
* Ensure repairs are completed safely, on time, and within budget
* Liaise directly with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
* Monitor project costs, performance, and reporting
* Ensure compliance with health & safety and regulatory standards
* Quickly resolve site issues to minimise disruption to residents
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or similar in social housing roofing works.
* Knowledge of repair and maintenance roofing systems (flat and pitched)
* Strong organisational and leadership skills
* Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
* Understanding of social housing standards and resident-focused service
* Full UK Driving Licence
