This role offers the opportunity to build a strong, trusting relationship with a young learner, providing tailored academic, emotional, and pastoral support throughout the school day. You’ll work alongside the class teacher and wider SEN team to help the pupil access learning, develop confidence, and build a positive relationship with school. In addition to classroom support, the role includes supporting the child during less structured parts of the day, helping to maintain routine, reassurance, and consistency. The ideal candidate will: • Have experience working with children in a school or early years setting • Be calm, nurturing, and positive, acting as a strong role model • Understand the importance of structure and routine for young learners • Be confident providing 1:1 support tailored to individual needs • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families • Show initiative, reliability, and a strong work ethic Experience supporting children with SEN is desirable, but applications from those with transferable experience are also welcomed.
