A new opportunity has arisen for a Physician Associate to join our practice.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Physician Associate to become part of our clinical team. This role is ideally suited to a PA with strong primary care experience, who is confident in assessing and managing undifferentiated presentations. The successful candidate will also have a particular interest and expertise in chronic disease management, working collaboratively under appropriate GP supervision.
Main duties of the job
* Independent management of acute and routine presentations within agreed scope
* Management of long terms conditions and chronic diseases (e.g. asthma, diabetes, COPD, hypertension, frailty, dementia, LD)
* Same-day and pre-booked appointments (face‑to‑face, telephone, and online)
* Requesting and interpreting investigations
* Developing and reviewing management plans in collaboration with supervising GPs
* Contributing to clinical decision‑making within the MDT
* Supporting and mentoring less experienced PAs or trainees if required
* Participation in audits, QI projects, and practice development
* Accurate and timely clinical documentation using EMIS

The Elms Surgery is a forward‑thinking, well‑established GPpractice caring for approximately 9000 patients. We have a strong multidisciplinary team including experienced 3 GPs, 5 Physician Associates, a Clinical Pharmacist, first contact physiotherapist, and social prescriber. Clinicians are supported by an efficient and friendly Admin & Reception team.

Job responsibilities
We are looking for an qualified PA, with GMC registration and a minimum of 3 years post‑qualification experience in General Practice. The ideal candidate will manage Chronic Disease clinics and support acute on the day appointment demand.

Experience
* Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience in General Practice
* Experience running chronic disease clinics
* Experience supervising or mentoring junior clinicians
* Special interest or skill (e.g. minor illness, urgent care, womens health, elderly care, LD checks, Smear taker)
* Experienced in seeing children
