Aircraft Maintenance Planner (A400M) Location: RAF Brize NortonContract Type: PermanentShift Pattern: 5x5x4 Day Shift – 07:00 to 19:00Salary & Benefits £44,847 per year£2,720 shift allowanceOverview An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Aircraft Maintenance Planner to support aircraft line and base maintenance operations on the A400M aircraft within a highly regulated aviation environment.This role focuses on the pre-input planning of aircraft maintenance, ensuring all activities are delivered in line with MAA Part 145 regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for creating detailed work packs, planning maintenance inputs, and providing on-site planning support to production teams.Working within a modern, well-equipped facility, this position offers training, career development, and upskilling opportunities, making it ideal for individuals looking to grow within aircraft maintenance planning.Key Responsibilities Plan aircraft line and base maintenance inputs in accordance with regulatory requirementsReview customer work packs to ensure compliance with approved maintenance scopeBuild and assemble scheduled and unscheduled work packages, including milestones, resource planning, and critical path analysisCreate and review task cards, identifying complex and safety-critical activitiesProduce equipment summary reports, including tooling, access, parts, and materialsIdentify tasks requiring external support or subcontract servicesEnsure all work content is assessed for safety, complexity, and regulatory requirementsApply accurate task time estimates and ensure completeness of documentationOrganise and chair pre-input meetings with multiple stakeholdersProvide ongoing planning support to production teamsEnsure full compliance with organisational procedures and regulatory standardsHealth & Safety Responsibilities Maintain awareness of personal and operational health and safety responsibilitiesSupport compliance with aviation safety policies and Safety Management System (SMS) requirementsFollow all aviation security procedures and policiesPromote a safe and compliant working environment at all timesEssential Skills & Experience Experience using aircraft technical documentation to plan maintenance activities and estimate ground timeStrong knowledge of MAA regulations and CAMO / Part 145 interface requirementsPrevious experience in aircraft maintenance or production planning (civil or military)Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with a logical approach to task sequencingAbility to plan tasks with consideration for Human FactorsStrong communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levelsExperience using AMOS or similar maintenance planning systemsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)Desirable Skills Recognised aircraft engineering qualificationStrong analytical, project management, or quantitative skillsKnowledge of lean management principlesUnderstanding of financial, commercial, and procurement processes within maintenance operationsStrong interpersonal and written communication skillsWorking Environment Based at RAF Brize Norton5x5x4 day shift pattern (07:00–19:00)Working within a fast-paced, safety-critical aircraft maintenance environment supporting the A400M platformModern facilities with access to training and continuous development opportunitiesThis is an excellent opportunity for an Aircraft Maintenance Planner to join a high-performing team supporting A400M aircraft maintenance operations, with clear opportunities for career progression, training, and professional development .TPBN1_UKTJ
