Join to apply for the Generic Therapy Assistant role at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
We are recruiting for two posts in the Surgical Therapy Team at York Hospital. The successful candidates will work alongside Occupational and Physiotherapists across the surgical wards, delivering quality therapy interventions to support patient recovery from surgery.
We seek individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic environment and can adapt to changing demands. The role is primarily patient-facing, involving physical and administrative duties. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively to engage patients and collaborate with health professionals to ensure safe, quality care.
Our team offers access to leadership, training, supervision, and appraisal opportunities to support your professional development. While previous experience in a healthcare-facing role is preferred, we welcome applications from candidates with transferable skills.
The role involves working with patients on surgical wards across various clinical specialties, assisting Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists with physical rehabilitation, general patient care, and facilitating departmental operations.
Ideal candidates will be keen to learn, enthusiastic, and committed to delivering quality care. Responsibilities include completing daily IT administrative tasks and managing therapeutic equipment.
You should demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, a caring approach, and the ability to work independently managing your own caseload. Continuous learning and development through supervision and training are expected.
