We are seeking applications for a Commercial Team Manager in the Environmental Health Service.
What will be expected of me?
You will manage and lead the Commercial Team within the Environmental Health Team. Forming part of the EH management team you will have a significant direct impact on the success of the Team. You will demonstrate the right behaviours, ensuring all customer service and delivery for stakeholders reflects the Council's core values and promotes Environmental Health's reputation for excellent customer care
This role will directly line manage officers (currently 13 specialist officers) and indirectly manage partners working in other parts of the organisation and businesses to support service delivery. The ability to influence and lead people outside of the post holders' direct control is essential. The ability to nurture our commercial partnerships and engage new partners to support service delivery, regulation compliance, business growth and or new projects which utilise grant funding is vital to the success of the Service.
What will I be doing?
You will ensure efficient operational delivery of non-statutory and business functions for a team who predominantly support local and national businesses, and wider partners to protect and improve regulatory compliance and health objectives.
You will support officers to deliver within the 3 strategic business units - Primary Authority, Training (food hygiene, H&S, first aid etc) and Consultancy (regulatory advice). .
You will be responsible for managing the Commercial service budget and meeting income targets to support the wider service. You will review contracts, service provision, financial performance and opportunities to bring positive changes to the busy team.
You will lead the team and plan and develop systems, procedures and policy to support improved performance and innovation in the team.
Essential Requirements:
1. BSc degree or MSc in Environmental Health or equivalent level 6 qualification relevant to the team's functions.
2. Member of professional body and evidence of Continuous professional development.
3. Significant experience of managing and delivering a relevant environmental health functional discipline(s).
