About the Role
Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work within a supportive primary school in Bristol. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children's learning and development in a classroom setting.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support the delivery of lessons, assist pupils with their learning, and contribute to creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities
* Assisting pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
* Helping to prepare classroom resources and learning materials
* Supporting pupils with varying abilities, including those with additional needs (SEND/SEMH)
* Encouraging positive behaviour and maintaining a focused learning environment
* Promoting pupils' confidence, independence, and engagement
* Supporting classroom organisation and daily routines
* Assisting during break times, transitions, and school activities
* Working collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams
* Upholding safeguarding, welfare, and child protection procedures at all times
Requirements
* Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)
* A positive, proactive, and supportive approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
* An enhanced DBS on the update service (child workforce), or willingness to apply
* Right to work in the UK
