Job Introduction
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant. The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for verifying that all revenue is captured and reported accurately, reconciling banking daily, and analysing complimentary items and discounts daily. Role Responsibilities
* Processing purchase invoices and payment runs to suppliers, including reconciliation of supplier statements.
* Raising and billing all corporate, group, wedding, and private event invoices, ensuring charges are correct.
* Following up on overdue and outstanding payments, including deposits, ensuring accurate posting.
* Reconciliation of bank accounts including Cash, Cheques, Bacs payments, Credit Card, and vouchers, with daily balancing and discrepancy reporting.
* Processing group recharges to other properties.
* Chasing overdue payments to ensure debt collection.
* Protecting revenue by resolving issues quickly and efficiently to minimize costs.
* Processing weekly payroll when required, including pension contributions and payments.
* Assisting the Financial Controller with managing the Time & Attendance system, including rotas, hours reporting, and wage monitoring, plus user training.
The Ideal Candidate
Our ideal Accounts Assistant will...
* Be studying towards AAT or similar qualification, or have relevant experience.
* Have a good understanding of hotel software and systems (preferably HART).
* Have intermediate Excel skills.
* Knowledge of Sage 200 is advantageous.
* Be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work under tight deadlines with a hands-on approach.
* Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Be flexible to adapt to various work situations.
* Use initiative and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
* Have an excellent telephone manner.
