Leading UK Engineering Consultancy
I'm working with a well established and highly regarded engineering consultancy looking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing Kent team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to take ownership of projects while continuing to develop towards Principal / Chartered level within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The Role:
You’ll be involved in delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across residential, commercial, education, retail, and industrial sectors, taking responsibility for both technical design and project coordination.
Working alongside Technical Managers and Directors, you will:
* Produce designs, calculations, reports, and drawings
* Manage your own workload across multiple projects
* Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians
* Assist in delivering projects to agreed deadlines and budgets
* Attend site visits, inspections, and design meetings
* Liaise with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
* Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and health & safety standards
* Contribute to project planning, resourcing, and coordination
What I'm Looking For:
* Master’s degree in Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
* Chartered, or working towards Chartership (ICE or IStructE)
* Strong experience in structural design across a range of sectors
* Good understanding of:
* Eurocodes & UK Building Regulations
* Materials including steel, concrete, timber, and masonry
* Modern methods of construction (MMC/modular)
* Experience with software such as Tedds, Tekla, MasterSeries, or similar
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
* Strong communication and client-facing skills
* A proactive and collaborative approach to team working
