A well-established and rapidly growing business in the retail sector is looking to appoint a Senior Financial / Management Accountant to play a pivotal role in their Leicester-based finance team.
This is a confidential hire for a key role that will suit a qualified accountant looking to take on a mix of financial and management accounting responsibilities within a dynamic, commercially focused environment.
The Opportunity Working closely with the Group Financial Controller, this role offers full exposure to the month-end process and a chance to help shape financial controls as the business continues to scale.
You will be responsible for:
Producing timely and accurate monthly management accounts
Completing balance sheet and control account reconciliations
Managing accruals, prepayments, and journals
Overseeing inventory accounting and controls
Maintaining the fixed asset register
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Supporting statutory accounts and audit preparation
Delivering ad-hoc and scheduled financial reporting
The Ideal Candidate We’re looking for someone with strong accounting fundamentals and a proactive mindset, who can operate independently in a fast-paced business.
You will be/have:
Qualified accountant (ACCA or ACA)
Experience with stock and inventory accounting
Knowledge of import/export transactions (preferred)
Strong communicator – comfortable liaising with non-finance stakeholders
High attention to detail and good problem-solving abilities
Confident user of Excel (pivot tables, macros, data models)
Familiarity with Sage, Xero, or MS Dynamics 365 Business Central would be advantageous
