About the role

The University of Lancashire is looking to appoint an industrially focused Research Associate to conduct research into applied uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) technology for aerospace applications in areas such as agriculture and advanced sensing.

The successful candidate will be based in theAerospace and Sensors Research Team within theSchool of Engineering and Computing and will work with industry partners and UAS end users to gather requirements, research, develop and demonstrate novel UAS and also UXV technology solutions.

About you
Good working knowledge of UAS, components, technology and operating rules and procedures is required, to develop integrated systems including sensor integration and algorithm design.

A PhD or equivalent is essential for this role.

Training will be provided to the successful candidate for operating UAS platforms if required.

Additional information:

You will spend your time working both at our Preston Campus and our new ‘Altitude’ centre dedicated to Aerospace and Space Engineering, based on the Warton Enterprise Zone, therefore some travel between sites would be required.
