The Compliance, Health, Safety and Environmental Assistant will assist the CHSE Manager with the efficient running of the department and in meeting health, safety, environmental compliance requirements for the manufacturing facility and group, as part of their ISO9001, 14001, 45001, 50001, MCERTS, FSC, BSEN15593 accreditations.
Compliance, Health & Safety and Environment Assistant requirements:
- NEBOSH or other relevant Health and Safety qualification.
- Experience gained from manufacturing, engineering, logistics or heavy industry
Compliance, Health & Safety and Environment Assistant responsibilities:
Record off-Site waste transfers, verify information to ensure transfer is correctly described and meets Duty of Care
Record operational environmental data as necessary for the internal compliance and permit obligations, interpret trends
Submit data to group and CPI for safety and sustainability indicators
Liaise with and supervise external parties and contractors as required (for example Legionella, Breathing Air, Waste and Air Emissions Monitoring)
Prepare internal and external reports
Monitor FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) compliance
Prepare presentation and attend Departmental HS&E Meetings
Deliver training as requested
Carry out internal and support external audits and inspections as requested
Update electronic and other notice boards monthly
Manage the CHSE filing administration and documentation retention
Maintain and develop safety campaigns
Update Intelex and the IMS (Integrated Management systems) documents as necessary
Partake in accident/incident investigation
Partake in, and assist in managing risk assessments
Assist in developing HS&E representatives
Identify ways to improve site HS&E performance
Respond to queries and provide advice for SHEQ matters
Assist with the creating, development, and trial of policies, procedures, guidance, and assessments
Assist HSE Manager in any duties and projects as required
Maintain confidentiality of information and records
Provide on call assistance on a rota basis
Assist/Contribute to the booking and logging of various employee training
