First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our reputable client who is seeking a Domestic Gas Operator to join their team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Your main duties will include servicing, general repairs/maintenance, and attending breakdowns of gas appliances and central heating systems at client premises, in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and industry standards.
2. To be competent in fault diagnosis and repair of modern and traditional boilers, and to be able to carry out repairs to central heating systems, including fitting new pumps, motorised valves, radiators and pipework adaptations as necessary.
3. To undertake Power Flushing of heating systems.
4. To ensure the security and correct operation of all work equipment supplied, including vehicles, tools, flue gas analysis meters, and mobile data equipment.
5. To ensure all Certification and Documentation is recorded accurately and in good time.
6. To have a sound knowledge of Customer Care and to possess the ability to deal with potentially impatient or angry tenants while being able to cope with the emotional demands that dealing with such situations may create.
7. To be willing and able to work as part of a team yet demonstrate independent initiative in dealing with situations arising and completing tasks.
8. To communicate effectively with customers when explaining the correct operation of gas appliances and the importance of regular servicing of gas appliances.
9. The ability to work to deadlines and timescales and liaise with managers and customers regarding changes to schedules or appointments.
Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the Leadership Team.
Skills and Qualifications:
10. ACS qualifications – minimum of CCN1, CEN1, WAT1, (CENWAT), CKR1, HTR1 & CPA1
11. Energy Efficiency
12. DAH1, Unvented Hot Water, WRAS (water supply regulations 1999) Desirable
13. Certificate of Asbestos Awareness Training
14. Certificate of Training Achievement for Working at Height, Manual Handling, First Aid (1-Day), or other. Desirable
15. Full driving licence
