The NDA File Handler will work within a team of fraud specialists and legal support staff, managing a caseload of suspected fraud files related to RTAs, working closely with claims handlers without Delegated Authority.
The role involves collaboration with the Lead Lawyer to achieve optimal results in a commercially sound manner. It requires following defined processes, applying forensic and analytical skills to evidence, and maintaining high commercial awareness. Decision-making within set timeframes, aligned with case strategy and client interests, is crucial. The role also involves strategic foresight to shape the future of counter-fraud efforts, handling various types of suspected fraudulent insurance claims such as:
* Bogus Passenger
* Staged/Contrived
* Fraudulent Exaggeration
* Induced accidents
* Low Speed Impact
* Late Notification Claims
* Credit Hire Fraud
* MIB
* Linked & Organised Crime
Key Responsibilities
The NDA File Handler will manage fraud cases from litigation through to resolution, including:
* Strategic Excellence: Reviewing evidence, setting case strategies with clients, adhering to process stages, identifying litigation opportunities, and recognizing client trends.
* Client Excellence: Handling files per client guidelines, ensuring satisfaction, accurate MI, and meeting KPIs.
* Technical Excellence: Reporting to insurers, liaising with involved parties, meeting deadlines, achieving favorable litigation results, and maintaining case management systems.
* Financial Excellence: Working efficiently to meet profitability targets, billing accurately and on time.
* Cultural Excellence: Upholding company values.
Working hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with one unpaid lunch hour. The primary location is Bolton, Parklands Office, with a flexible attendance policy requiring at least one day in the office weekly.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Experience in civil litigation claims handling or relevant qualifications (ILEX, LPC, etc.)
* Experience with linked and organised fraud is desirable but not essential
* Experience handling RTA pre-litigated and litigated cases
* Understanding of insurance litigation practices and indemnity principles
* Knowledge of litigation process and CPR
* Good advocacy and client care skills
* Strong analytical, communication, and prioritization skills
* Experience with time recording and billing systems
* Proficiency in IT
