As an Engineering Technician Apprentice, you'll contribute to the maintenance and repairs of various components from both fixed wing and rotary aircraft.\nThis varied and exciting programme covers Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic product groups. As part of your apprenticeship, you will cover various aspects of all these disciplines.\n\nYouâll be trained to use a variety of hand and machine tools whilst learning how to identify faults and return equipment to working condition. Youâll be involved in the maintenance and repair of a wide range of components, valves and hydraulic equipment. You could even work on critical rescue hoists used in various air sea rescue platforms.\n\nYou will be trained in the use of technical data, and the measurement of complex components using various equipment. This will develop your technical skills and competence over the term of your apprenticeship.\n\nSkills Gained \nâ¢\tDetailed reporting of shop findings to meet the requirements of aviation industry regulations \nâ¢\tHealth and safety procedures\nâ¢\tPlanning and documentation\nâ¢\tMethods and techniques\nâ¢\tDiagnostic methods to overcome problems\nâ¢\tInterpreting engineering drawings and data\nâ¢\tVarious measurement equipment skills\nâ¢\tBoth mechanical and electrical knowledge\nâ¢\tAdhering to and refining processes and procedures Aerotron Avotec Ltd is an aircraft component maintenance company working in the civilian and military aviation sectors. Based in Uddingston, the company specialises in the repair and overhaul of Electrical & Mechanical components for the aerospace industry.\n\n\nJob purpose\nReady to learn a skilled trade? On our 4-year Engineering Trades Apprenticeship, youâll develop specialist engineering trade skills and gain hands-on experience maintaining aviation components. \n\nEducation\nInitial training carried out by an external training centre, developing many of the essential skills needed for the program.\n\nA four-year apprenticeship programme where you will achieve vocational qualifications at SCQF level 5 and Level 7 and academic qualification of NC followed by an HNC in a mechanical qualification will be provided by the company. All leading to the completion of a Modern Apprenticeship Diploma in Engineering All candidates must have good communication skills and show a desire and commitment to succeed as an Apprentice \n\nCandidates for the vacancies must have, or expect to pass at least 4 National 5 Grades at Level C or above, in English, Mathematics, Science & Technical subjects, Higher grades would be an advantage. \n
