Procurement Manager / Procurement Supervisor (Interim - Minimum 6 Months with a January start)
Location: Onsite in Ulverston (Hybrid available when required however the role does need hands on management with the team)
Hours: 35-hour working week
Salary: £50,000+ per annum. Day rate could be available via Umbrella if preffered. Inside IR35.

You will be stepping into a key leadership role at a pivotal time, making an immediate impact while shaping and developing a high-performing procurement function.
The Role
As the Procurement Manager/Supervisor, you will lead and empower a team of five experienced Buyers. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will drive performance, strengthen supplier relationships, and ensure the function operates with excellence, efficiency, and accuracy.
You will oversee a large and diverse supplier base, manage procurement strategy, and ensure the team is aligned, motivated, and delivering at the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, coach, and develop a team of five Buyers, ensuring high performance and engagement.
* Oversee end-to-end procurement across a large supplier list, ensuring best value, quality, and continuity of supply.
* Take a hands-on approach to key supplier negotiations, contract management, and problem-solving.
* Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes and supplier management.
* Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across operations, quality, engineering, and finance.
* Maintain accurate data, reporting, and forecasting within the procurement function.
* Support business priorities by ensuring timely, cost-effective sourcing of materials and components.
* Demonstrate strong leadership presence onsite while benefiting from hybrid flexibility when appropriate.
What We're Looking For
* A proven Procurement Manager, Supervisor, or Senior Buyer ready to step up into leadership.
* Strong people-management skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and get the best out of a team.
* Hands-on approach - someone who leads from the front and supports the team in day-to-day activities.
* Experience managing multiple suppliers and complex procurement environments.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
* Resilient, proactive, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
* Immediately available or available at short notice for an interim assignment.
