We’re looking for an experienced Transport Controller / Manager to run day‑to‑day fleet operations at our busy Rotherham transport yard.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
* Manage daily transport operations and vehicle routing (RoRo, tippers, sweepers, pickups)
* Ensure full compliance with O‑Licence, CPC, tachograph, and driver legislation
* Administer vehicle tachographs, MOTs, servicing, repairs, and inspections
* Maintain vehicle insurance, tax, and licensing records
* Coordinate with drivers, mechanics, insurers, and inspection bodies
* Monitor vehicle and machinery maintenance, defects, and rectification reports
* Process purchase orders, invoices, and month‑end cost reports
* Handle skip and RoRo bookings via phone and email
* Maintain accurate records for drivers, vehicles, and waste movements
* Carry out driver licence checks, CPC monitoring, and training arrangements
* Support basic HR processes such as inductions, training records, and holiday requests
* Complete accident reports and maintain safety documentation
Key Requirements:
* HGV fleet and driver management experience
* Strong knowledge of O‑Licence and transport compliance
* Excellent organisation and communication skills
