We need someone with strong scientific know-how and analytical thinking, combined with a keen interest in creating and managing compliant medical content for the web, to join our growing copywriting division.

What will you be doing?
* Leading web medical content strategy across Japanese accounts, ensuring all deliverables are scientifically robust, compliant, and aligned to client objectives.
* Acting as the primary medical lead for Japanese projects, working closely with Content, SEO, and Account teams locally and globally.
* Writing and overseeing high-quality medical content for the web for HCP and patient audiences in line with performance.io’s strategy and SEO guidance.
* Mentoring and supporting medical writers, providing clear direction, feedback, and quality control across deliverables.
* Collaborating with SEO and strategy teams to shape search-optimised content plans and ensure medical accuracy across outputs.
* Leading and contributing to client calls, including with senior stakeholders, as well as workshops and presentations, confidently explaining medical strategy and recommendations.
* Supporting internal training and capability building across the Japanese and wider global team.
* Maintaining a strong understanding of performance.io tools and processes, including our SEO and content methodologies.
What experience do you need?
* Educated to at least Bachelor’s degree level in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy or a related discipline.
* Able to distil complex medical concepts (e.g. disease features, drug efficacy and safety data) into simple content that’s clear, concise, and compelling.
* Demonstrated research and referencing skills.
* Existing knowledge of SEO and/or writing copy for the web is a bonus, but certainly not required - our performance.io learning academy will get you up to speed.
* Strong understanding of local pharmaceutical regulations for web content, including what can and cannot be communicated online in line with local authorities and compliance requirements.
Client & Strategy
* Strong client-facing and presentation skills are essential. You should be confident leading medical and content strategy discussions with clients and presenting complex scientific topics in a clear, commercially relevant way. Experience working in, or closely with, marketing, digital, or MedComms agencies is highly desirable.
* You will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced agency environment, working across multiple workstreams, and taking ownership of medical strategy across accounts. The role requires someone confident partnering with internal teams and clients to shape content direction, provide strategic recommendations, and lead presentations and workshops where needed.

* Japanese fluency is essential, as this role focuses exclusively on Japanese-language medical content.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly within highly regulated pharmaceutical content.

* Clear communicator who keeps stakeholders updated on progress, risks, and priorities.
* Able to manage deadlines and deliver high-quality work at pace.
* Comfortable working across multiple accounts and shifting priorities in a fast-paced agency environment. Confident and self-assured, with the ability to lead client meetings and presentations, and at ease working with stakeholders both in person and online.
