HR Advisor

An established, employee-owned travel and hospitality organisation is seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join its People team based at the central office in Chorley. The business operates a nationwide network of hotels and transport services, employing around 1,000 people across the UK, with a busy support function located in Lancashire.
The position is predominantly office based in Chorley, with travel to sites roughly once per month and further UK travel during the year.
Key areas of responsibility include:
1. Providing day-to-day people support across an assigned area of the business
2. Managing employee relations activity including absence, investigations, disciplinaries and grievances
3. Partnering with managers on recruitment and selection in a high-volume environment
4. Supporting training, development, performance management and appraisals
5. Ensuring policies and practices reflect current employment legislation
6. Working with payroll and senior managers on people changes
7. Contributing to wider HR projects and the ongoing development of the people function
8. Managing and developing an HR Assistant
About you
This opportunity suits an experienced HR generalist who enjoys working in an operational setting with pace and responsibility.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
9. CIPD Level 5 or working towards completion
10. Strong working knowledge of UK employment law
11. Experience handling complex employee relations cases
12. Exposure to high-volume recruitment and people management
13. The ability to build credible relationships with operational managers
14. Strong organisation skills in a fast-moving environment
15. A practical, people-focused approach
Working pattern and travel
16. This is a full-time, five day per week role based from the Chorley office.
17. Flexitime operates within core hours, typically between 8-4 or 10-6, provided contracted hours are met
Salary and benefits
18. £35,00 to £40,000 depending on experience
