Location: Central London (5 days per week on site)

At DXC, one of our platinum accounts has openings for Cloud Infrastructure Engineer of varying skill levels. The successful candidate will work within a small team which will require a good level of knowledge on DevOps engineering methodologies and that is comfortable working within a cloud development environment. The role involves designing, deploying, managing, and optimising cloud and virtualisation environments across public, private, and hybrid cloud platforms. The ideal candidate would be innovative and analytical with a good eye for detail. Within your role, you will work with a broad range of technologies, including containers, virtualisation, servers, storage, networks, middleware, and database solutions.
Role responsibilities:
1. Manage and operate cloud and virtualization infrastructure, ensuring stability and performance.
2. Deploy, configure, and optimize virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM
3. Support cloud migration projects for public and private cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions
5. Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure issues across storage, networking, and compute environments
6. Implement automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or PowerShell
7. Maintain backup, disaster recovery, and security best practices across all infrastructure components
8. Document system configurations, policies, and procedures for future reference and audits
9. Provide technical guidance and support to other teams as needed

Desirable Skills and Technologies
17. Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
18. Some industry experience, with at least 2+ years in a cloud or virtualization role
19. Experience with containerisation and Kubernetes
20. Strong experience with VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or KVM
21. Familiarity with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
22. Knowledge of networking, storage solutions, and Active Directory in cloud environments
23. Experience with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, or Python)
24. Understanding of IT security best practices, identity management, and compliance
25. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
26. Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator).
