The Governing Body is seeking to appoint a Temporary Deputy Head Teacher to cover leadership responsibilities while the Deputy Head Teacher and Assistant Head Teacher are on maternity leave. The Deputy Head Teacher commenced maternity leave in June 2025, and the Assistant Head Teacher is due to begin maternity leave in December 2025. The role will include a teaching responsibility, with the specific year group or subject area determined by the evolving needs of the pupils and the school. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced senior leader, or someone who has recently held this role, to further develop their leadership skills. The successful candidate will: • Be a strong, enthusiastic classroom practitioner • Have experience in senior leadership, including academic, pastoral, and operational responsibilities • Demonstrate a clear understanding of school improvement strategies and a track record of raising standards • Ideally have experience leading English across the primary education, with a strong understanding of phonics and reading We aim for the successful candidate to start on 3rd November 2025, allowing time for a comprehensive handover before the Assistant Head Teacher's maternity leave begins. This start date is negotiable depending on individual circumstances. The end date for the role is expected to be 3rd April 2026.
