Role Overview
Northumbria Healthcare Foundation Trust (NHCT) Community Podiatry Services are seeking a qualified HCPC‑registered Specialist Podiatrist to deliver evidence‑based podiatry for all ages and high‑risk patient groups.
Responsibilities
* Assess, diagnose, treat and evaluate abnormalities and diseases related to the foot and lower limb.
* Provide specialist care to maintain mobility, independence, tissue viability and relieve discomfort for patients with diabetes, circulatory disorders, neuropathy, rheumatoid arthritis and biomechanical pathologies.
* Deliver care in clinics, GP surgeries, hospitals, patient homes and nursing homes across Blyth and the South East locality area.
* Work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team, acting as a source of professional advice to patients, carers, GPs and other healthcare professionals.
* Contribute to the development of the Podiatry Department and adhere to Trust and departmental policies, procedures and objectives.
* Role‑model compassionate and inclusive leadership, engaging, enabling and empowering others, using coaching for learning and quality improvement and facilitating teamwork across organisational boundaries.
Qualifications & Experience
* Qualified Podiatrist, HCPC registered, with specialist or equivalent experience.
* Ability to integrate into multidisciplinary teams and work autonomously.
* Strong character and decisive decision‑making skills.
* Interest in band 5 competency programme for role development (desired).
* Third‑year podiatry students graduating this year will be considered.
Additional Information
This position is full‑time; candidates preferring to work 3 days a week or more may be considered. The advert closes on Thursday 7 May 2026.
