An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Facilities Engineer to join a high-profile corporate environment in the City. Working a permanent night schedule, you will take ownership of maintaining and preparing a premium office space to ensure it is fully operational and presented to the highest standard for the next working day.
This role suits someone hands-on, proactive and comfortable operating within a professional, client-facing setting.
The Role
As part of the Facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the building fabric and supporting workplace operations during out-of-hours periods. Duties will include:
Responding to reactive maintenance issues raised through the helpdesk system
Carrying out urgent repairs overnight, including plumbing leaks, fixtures, fittings and furniture issues
Completing small works such as lock repairs, door adjustments, painting and patch repairs
Conducting routine building checks and identifying defects before they escalate
Supporting office churn and internal moves, including safe handling of furniture, IT equipment and sensitive materials
Setting up meeting rooms and event spaces to specific layouts
Providing general porterage and logistical support for events and reconfiguration
Maintaining safe, tidy and well-organised storage areas
Recording works accurately and ensuring compliance with health & safety procedures
Working closely with internal stakeholders to minimise disruption You may also be required to support an emergency call-out rota where necessary.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone with a strong background in building services and workplace maintenance, ideally within a corporate or professional services environment.
You will demonstrate:
At least 5 years' experience in facilities or building maintenance
Solid practical skills across decorating, basic carpentry and floor tile replacement
A solution-focused approach with the ability to work independently
Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders
Good organisational ability and attention to detail
Basic IT literacy (Microsoft Office)
