About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Vehicle Technician with proven competence working on vans and heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). You will play a key role in diagnosing, servicing, and repairing commercial vehicles to high standards, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance at all times. This role is perfect for a technician who enjoys variety and has strong mechanical and diagnostic ability.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on vans and HGVs
* Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic equipment
* Perform routine inspections including brake systems, steering, suspension, and transmissions
* Complete accurate job cards, service records, and reports
* Ensure all work meets required quality, safety, and compliance standards
* Work efficiently to meet workshop deadlines and customer expectations
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment
* Support apprentice technicians or colleagues as required
About You
* Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician / Commercial Mechanic
* Hands-on experience servicing and repairing vans and HGVs
* Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills
* Comfortable using electronic diagnostic tools and workshop systems
* Reliable, motivated, and detail-focused
* Capable of working independently and as part of a team
* Full UK driving licence and relevant certifications (HGV/MOT tech qualifications beneficial)
