Role Description
Engineer Surveyor - Lift & Crane - Thame at Allianz UK. Progress your engineering career in the Allianz Engineering Inspection Services team. Engineer Surveyors visit client sites to carry out inspections and assess a wide range of plant, equipment, and installations. Newly recruited engineers are enrolled onto Allianz’s induction training programme.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer with a good knowledge of the Lift and Crane discipline to join Allianz Engineering, a division of one of the world’s largest insurers and financial services companies.
Responsibilities
* Anticipate client needs and help ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
* Work closely with the Engineer Surveyor Team managed by a Senior Operations Team Leader.
* Prepare examination reports following inspections using electronic reporting for fast, efficient delivery to clients.
* Carry out hands-on inspections of plant and equipment such as lifts, material handling equipment, cranes, and construction plant.
* Work in a hands-on environment which may involve working at height, in confined spaces, lifting, and climbing in hot and cold conditions; exposure to noise and dust.
Salary Information
Starting salary £44,213 + Company Car and additional benefits. Salary is part of a total reward package.
What You Bring
As an Engineer Surveyor you will assess a wide range of installations and help clients comply with relevant legislation.
* Up-to-date knowledge of compliance and regulatory rules for Lift and Crane discipline.
* Strong decision-making and responsibility; effective short-, medium-, and long-term planning.
* Ability to travel within your local work area; strong administrative and documentation skills.
* Willingness to support and deputise for fellow Engineer Surveyors as required.
* Passion for engineering; self-driven with strong client-facing communication skills.
* Hands-on experience with lifts, cranes, materials handling equipment; background in manufacturing/repair/maintenance.
* Strong customer interaction skills, including oral and written communication.
Essential Skills
* NVQ Level 3 or above in a mechanical-related subject.
* Full valid UK driving licence.
* Time management and ability to self-organise weekly work.
* Comfort with using tablets/smartphones as part of daily work.
Desirable Skills
* Incorporated Engineer (desirable).
