The Role
The Director of Finance Transformation is responsible for leading and managing large-scale transformation initiatives within the finance and accounting organization. You will develop and implement innovative technology solutions that optimize processes and systems, improve operational efficiency, and drive organizational change. You will collaborate with senior finance leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners to ensure successful transformation projects.
What will you be doing?
* Collaborate with senior finance leadership to define transformation goals and objectives
* Lead and manage transformation projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget
* Conduct stakeholder interviews to understand current processes and identify opportunities for improvement (streamlining, elimination, standardization, automation)
* Identify opportunities for improvement (Current State Assessment/Gap Analysis) and innovation across the finance organization
* Collaborate with IT, product management, engineering/data teams, and stakeholders to define future state system architecture and technical roadmaps
* Evaluate existing systems and propose enhancements to improve efficiency, scalability, and user experience
* Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in finance technology and recommend potential implementations
* Maintain project cadence by delivering project plans, analyses, deliverables, trackers, and other key project documents, or by overseeing analysts or partnering with stakeholders
* Develop and manage budgets for finance technology initiatives, ensuring cost-effectiveness and ROI
* Develop and implement change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and technologies, while maintaining compliance with control requirements and SOX
* Design/facilitate training sessions to help employees understand and adopt process improvements
* Establish OKRs, KPIs, and metrics to measure the success of transformation initiatives
What will you need to succeed?
* Demonstrated experience and success leading transformative organizational work
* Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and translate complex information across functions
* Strong operational capability to oversee processes, deliver projects, timelines, and budgets, with effective customer management
* Highly collaborative, interpersonal, and cross-functional team experience; ability to lead and influence
* Ability to switch between business-focused and technology-focused discussions
* Ability to deliver executive-level updates and escalate appropriately
* Critically analyze internal controls and opportunities for process improvements
* Ability to work globally and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
* Sense of urgency, follow-through, and an ownership mindset
* Affinitiy for a high-performance, project-oriented environment
* Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills; ability to communicate via PowerPoint to all management levels
* Willingness to challenge the status quo while maintaining urgency
* Experience building and driving new frameworks and processes with cross-functional teams
* Experience with Agile project and portfolio management tools (e.g., Jira) is a plus
* Strong interest in data analytics, machine learning, and generative AI as applied to finance
* Demonstrates Perk’s values through work and day-to-day interactions
Education and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
* Minimum of 10+ years in accounting operations or related experience delivering transformation programs with a proven track record
