Overview
Registered Veterinary Nurse – Small Animal opportunity at ICR Vets. We are seeking a passionate nurse to join our team with a mix of consulting, surgery, diagnostics, and inpatient care. The role is primarily based at our RCVS-accredited hospital in Loanhead, with occasional branch work involved. We value enthusiasm, hard work, and the ability to integrate with a team to deliver exceptional client and patient care.
About ICR Vets
ICR Vets is a progressive small animal practice with four branches located near Edinburgh. Our Loanhead hospital provides 24‑hour emergency and inpatient care and offers a varied caseload—from routine surgeries and dentistry to advanced procedures and diagnostics. The hospital is equipped with in‑house blood analysers, dental radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, and multi‑parameter monitoring. We provide laparoscopic surgery and training for new staff. Our team includes multiple certificate holders with interests in ECC, internal medicine, surgery, dermatology, cardiology, behaviour, physiotherapy, and chronic pain, and we offer advanced services such as orthopaedics, BOAS surgery, and chemotherapy, keeping complex cases in‑house when possible.
We foster a supportive, inclusive environment with a team of 21 vets, 26 RVNs, and full support from VCAs, receptionists, and admin staff. Regular team gatherings focus on clinical improvement, wellbeing, and socialising, including an annual Away Day to celebrate the team.
Rota and Working Pattern
Ideally a full-time position with a four-day work week. We operate our own out-of-hours service, with a rota including a share of weekends (1:12) and night shifts (1:18). We understand that priorities outside of work vary and are happy to discuss flexible patterns to help you strike the right balance.
