We are currently recruiting On-Street Operatives to support the operation of the WESTbike and WESTscoot hire scheme across Bristol.
We are an operating partner working alongside Dott Micro-Mobility, helping to keep Bristol's public bike and scooter hire scheme safe, reliable, and available for everyone. We are looking for motivated individuals to join our team on 6-month fixed-term contracts, with opportunities on both day and night shifts.
About the Role
As an On-Street Operative, you will play a key role in maintaining and supporting Bristol's micromobility network. You will work independently and as part of a team to ensure bikes and scooters are available, safe, and ready for public use.
We are recruiting for both:
* Van Drivers – responsible for transporting bikes, scooters, and batteries across the network
* Cargo Bike Riders – responsible for battery swapping, inspections, and light on-street maintenance using electric cargo bikes
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out battery swapping to ensure vehicles remain operational
* Rebalance bikes and scooters across designated locations to meet demand
* Collect damaged or faulty vehicles and return them to the hub for repair
* Perform basic safety checks and light maintenance on vehicles
* Use smartphone apps and digital tools to log maintenance and operational tasks
* Operate electric vans or cargo bikes safely and responsibly
* Maintain a high standard of professionalism while representing the operation
* Follow all Health & Safety procedures and protocols
Requirements
* Full UK driving licence (required for van driver roles)
* Comfortable riding a cargo bike (for cargo bike operative roles)
* Basic mechanical knowledge of bicycles or scooters (desirable but not essential)
* Good knowledge of Bristol city centre and surrounding areas
* Ability to work independently and manage your workload
* Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
* Positive attitude and strong team spirit
