* This role is CTV-based sailing from Barrow-In-Furness.
Contract
* This role is fixed-term PAYE only.
* The planned start date for this role will be 07.07.26.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Maintenance and Repair
* Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on Siemens offshore wind turbines in accordance with OEM procedures and site work instructions.
* Diagnose and resolve faults across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems; perform component replacement and functional testing.
* WT2: Lead small work packs; support major component exchanges (e.g., yaw motors, pitch cylinders, generators) under supervision.
* WT3: Plan and lead major component exchanges, oversee lift plans and authorisations, and verify reinstatement to service.
Safety, Compliance and Quality
* Adhere to all HSE standards (GWO, OEM, client, and site‑specific), including Dynamic Risk Assessments, Toolbox Talks, and Permit‑to‑Work.
* Ensure compliance with LOLER/PUWER, electrical safety (lock‑out/tag‑out), confined space, and working‑at‑height procedures.
* Complete accurate service reports, NCRs, punch lists, and parts usage in the designated CMMS (e.g., SAP/OMS).
* WT3: Act as a safety role model; lead safety briefings, perform quality checks, and champion continuous improvement.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
* Work effectively as part of an offshore team to meet availability and production targets.
* Mentor and coach WT1/WT2 technicians; share best practices and technical knowledge.
* Coordinate with CTV/SOV crews, marine control, and balance‑of‑plant teams to optimise work windows.
Planning and Logistics
* Prepare work scopes, tools, parts, and consumables; ensure readiness prior to offshore deployment.
* Contribute to look‑ahead plans, defect prioritisation, and spares forecasts.
* WT3: Lead daily coordination on the SOV, align plans with weather windows, lifting operations, and vessel schedules.
Skills and Experience
* Demonstrable offshore wind (or equivalent heavy industry) maintenance experience; Siemens platform exposure preferred.
* Competence working at height and in confined spaces, with strong troubleshooting capability.
* Experience with CMMS (SAP/OMS), SCADA diagnostics, and digital reporting tools.
* Lifting operations exposure (banksman/slinger) and basic rigging awareness.
* Advanced fault‑finding across electrical and mechanical systems; ability to read schematics and technical drawings.
* Strong safety mindset; consistent application of procedures and permits.
* Clear written and verbal communication; accurate reporting and handovers.
* Team leadership, coaching and mentoring (especially at WT3).
* Resilience in offshore conditions; organised, proactive, and solutions‑focused.
* Continuous improvement orientation; identifies and implements efficiency and quality enhancements.
Qualifications
* Recognised apprenticeship/technical qualification in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering (EQF Level 3+ or equivalent).
* Valid GWO BST (Working at Height, Sea Survival, First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling) and GWO BTT (Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic).
* Current offshore medical (e.g., OGUK/ENG1) and fitness assessments (e.g., Chester Step Test/WFA).
* Siemens/SGRE WT2 or WT3 platform training/authorisations (mechanical/electrical/hydraulic, rescue, platform‑specific).
* HV awareness or authorisation pathway (e.g., SAP/AP/CP).
