Job Description:
MCS Group is seeking a proactive and skilled Environmental & Facilities Engineer to support the management and maintenance of on-site facilities for a leading manufacturing company in the Greater Belfast area.
This role involves working across plant infrastructure, environmental systems, and site services to improve compliance, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
Responsibilities include:
* Ensuring all plant and facility systems comply with relevant legislation and industry standards.
* Managing service contracts such as water, compressors, forklifts, cranes, heating, and waste management.
* Developing environmental databases for reporting and addressing incidents or concerns.
* Leading internal environmental audits and supporting external compliance activities (ISO 14001, PPC).
* Driving initiatives to reduce energy consumption, waste, and environmental impact.
* Coordinating with suppliers for equipment and service sourcing.
* Preparing technical specifications, reviewing tenders, and presenting capital expenditure proposals.
* Liaising with regulatory bodies for audits, permits, and funding.
* Identifying and leading implementation of cost-saving projects.
* Conducting risk and compliance assessments across environmental and facilities operations.
Candidate Requirements:
* A degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance frameworks such as ISO 14001 and PPC.
