Band 5 Senior Dental Nurse

Responsibilities
* Provide high‑quality dental care to patients across the localities within the Dental Service.
* Support the efficient operation of the Community Dental Services in the Birmingham Locality and work alongside Specialist Dental Nurses.
* Work flexibly across different sites and departments where dental treatment is delivered.
* Manage staff, including Band 4 dental nurses, apprentices, and other support personnel; conduct performance reviews and ensure compliance with GDC guidelines.
* Maintain equipment, stock, and consumables, ensuring timely ordering and cost‑effective procurement.
* Carry out staff training, mandatory education, mentoring, and apprenticeship development.
* Lead risk management activities: incident handling, auditing, and liaison with departments for service improvement.
* Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols and other statutory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered Dental Nurse (NCSN) with relevant experience in a community dental setting.
* Strong leadership and team‑management skills.
* Demonstrated understanding of GDC guidelines, clinical audit, and risk management processes.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work flexibly across sites.
* Valid DBS and commitment to ongoing professional development.
