Langley Park School for Boys is an exceptional school that ensures excellent academic outcomes for our students. We are a large, inclusive, over-subscribed, 11-18 school with a co-educational Sixth Form. The school is home to Langley Park Centre for the Performing Arts. Along with an array of school events the centre is host to around 150+ days of performing arts events a year, from dance school shows to classical concerts. The centre is home to and supports local performing arts organisations, including our resident community cinema group Langley Film Box; Bromley Symphony Orchestra; Bromley Musical Theatre Company; Magpie Dance and Langley Park Community Choir. We host a number of high profile dance competitions throughout the year. We occasionally host filming hires, including for BBC Question Time.
We are looking to appoint an Events Manager on a casual contract, to event manage both commercial hire and school events.
What we are looking for:
* Strong experience in theatre, live events, or venue operations, with a clear understanding of front‑of‑house and technical event requirements
* Confident in managing events independently, ensuring smooth running from opening the venue to close‑down.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with visiting companies, school staff, students, and members of the public.
* Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast‑paced environment and respond calmly to last‑minute changes.
* A proactive and solutions‑focused approach, demonstrating initiative and sound judgment.
* Commitment to providing a safe, welcoming and professional environment for audiences and performers.
* Knowledge of basic health & safety, safeguarding and emergency procedures, or willingness to undertake training.
* Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, in line with the theatre’s events schedule.
* A positive, customer‑focused attitude, with an emphasis on delivering high‑quality audience experiences.
Langley Park Centre for the Performing Arts is a 488-seat theatre and concert hall located in Beckenham, South East London, with level stage access, easy load-in facilities, and on-site parking for over 300 cars.
